Our Story
From Our Family to Your Backyard
Our journey began with a retired couple who started Blue Barn as a side business to earn a little extra income. But they quickly found that demand for quality sheds was driving them further and further into a full-time commitment.
Things aligned perfectly for us — my wife Nicole and I — as I was able to approach them to purchase the business. Now they're able to make money as we pay them for the business, and we're able to start a new chapter for our family as we provide high-quality outdoor products for Southwest Michigan.
The previous owners did a great job setting us up for success and have been very gracious as we've learned the requirements of running a successful business. We've also partnered with our local Chamber of Commerce to find local business owners who have been more than willing to share their wisdom with us as we grow. We've found that everyone has something that you don't know, so it's worth asking questions and listening with an open mind.
Today, we're rebranding from Blue Barn Sheds to Blue Barn – Outdoor Living — because we provide more than just sheds, and we want to continue to grow our business and offer more and more products and services as we grow. From pre-built and custom Amish sheds, cabins, pavilions, swing sets, and custom outdoor furniture to durable docks in multiple styles, all of our products come with full delivery and installation to make things as convenient as possible for our customers.
